But Darling Just a Taste of It

I was recently reminded of one of my favorite camera apps to date: Hipstamatic.  Yesterday I was outside a good bit of the time playing with the app by taking photographs of the doggies.  Sometimes it is frustrating that you can't see exactly what the picture is going to turn out like until the very end (and yesterday the app had an extremely high crash rate).  However, I am so inspired by the magazine the designers of the app put out called Snap that I just can't help but keep trying to get the combinations just right for that perfect photograph.
If you're interested in a magazine that has beautiful pictures, hardly any ads, and relevant content (especially the formulas of the photos taken), check out Snap.  All of the photos featured in the magazine have been taken with the Hipstamatic app--seriously, it's fascinating.

Santa's Coming to Town With Sequins in His Hair

We had a visitor at the office today.  Adorable Miss Tuesday spent the day being loved on, sneaking treats, and just generally bringing joy (and the Christmas spirit) to the office.  She even had a Christmas themed collar.

I'm Stealing Home

If one does only what needs to be done, one most likely shall never have fun.
Priorities.  I'm struggling with putting certain things first and other things last.  Like sleep and work.  I know I'll struggle with it almost every day, but I'm always learning.  And then having to unlearn.  I don't like indecision.  I prefer to have a plan, know where I'm going, and what I need to do to get there.    But some days, I need a puppy to get in my face and remind me that this is my life and that living in the present without a plan can be loads of fun.
P.S. I just found out that there is/was a major jazz/ragtime/blues pianist named Oscar Peterson!  I just found this in my Simple Diary (that is turning out to be so much fun to keep).

I'm Like a Jack of All Trades Who's a Master of None

If you hang around me long enough, you start to realize that I love to dabble in a thousand different things.  Trying not to sound braggy and this next sentence don't really belong together, but I'm going to say it anyway and you're going to have to take at face value.  I have found that I'm pretty decent at a great number of things from knitting to writing to (sometimes) styling to photography and the list can go on and on, just don't ask me to tell you a story (without writing it down first) or draw something.  This past week really has put me to the test and I've loved every minute of it.  When I say I'm a fast learner, I'm not just repeating what everyone says.  The one thing that I still need to work on is performance under pressure.  While I can usually make things up on the fly, I'm much better at problem solving when I don't feel too rushed.   I just need to figure out how to slow down and speed my brain up so I can think through things.  However, I will have to admit, like the title, I may dabble in a lot of things, but I'm no expert at anything.  I think that might the way that I like it.  But it would make it easier for me to figure out what I want to do with my life if I had an outstanding favorite.
I keep having these big ideas that I still want to follow through on, but sometimes I feel that I need more knowledge than what I have (but reading those kinds of books are some kind of awful for me).  So maybe the books aren't that awful, but it's just so dense.  That's one of the main things that puts me off of books--when the reading takes a lot longer than you think (even while you're reading).  Plus now when do I have the time?  I could stick to the thousand other things I love to do, but where's the fun in that?  Not to mention the fact that the main thing I'm talking about is making my own perfume (and I guess I really don't have to know the history behind perfumes to figure it out).  This perfume making I want to do is going to be tricky because I don't really want to use any chemicals (just pure natural things).  I haven't been able to wear perfume in about three years and every time I think about it my heart breaks again because I love the smell and just the general idea of having memories associated to a certain smell.
There's my inner reflection for the week.

I'm so glad I have these big scary guys to protect me.

It's Nothing But the Truth

Five Things I'm thankful for this week:
I was able to relax this weekend
Just me and the animals
I think I'm getting things set up a little more professionally on here
So I'll be posting the morning instead of night
(In case you're unsure of what this is... it is the blog post I have written and set to post tomorrow)
I only have 3 weeks and 2 days until my 23rd birthday
Which will mean when I accidentally tell people I'm 23 I will no longer be lying
(Yes, I want a birthday cake.  No, it doesn't really have to look like this one, but it is cute, no?)
This will be the second week in a row that I do not work on Monday
Yay!  I don't think that will happen pretty much ever again
(Not how I feel just an extremely awesome "Monday" named company.)
I'm a beyond inspired fashion-wise for fall
Now for the weather to start cooling off!

I'm Glad of What Keeps Me Afloat

We grilled out tonight which gave us more time with the pups.  It was nice and breezy most of the time (but it got hot really quick when the breeze died down).  Oscar continues to amuse me almost every minute I'm outside (when he isn't being extremely lazy).   He has tons of personality that actually compliments Jack.  This time they weren't fighting non-stop, instead they were preoccupied with other things (eating cherry pits, chasing wasps, stealthily trying to get the bone away from each other, keeping a paw wet).  All in all we humans had a great time watching the dogs run around being silly (or laying around, if you're Oscar).

With a Vision of a Gentle Coast

Today has been another long day for me.  But we leave tomorrow and I feel like we just got here.  I'm really going to miss being here.

She's Countin' the Days

Five things I'm thankful for this week:
1 day, 8 hours, 10 minutes, and a handful of seconds until Hawaii AND I get to see the rest of my family!!!
I seriously can't wait!
I finally got to share my knitting knowledge with my mother.
It was hilarious and fun all at the same time.
I'm blessed with the most amazing boss a girl could ask for.
My nasty but adorable puppies whom I am going to miss next week.
Being able to go to bed at a decent time!
I'm headed to fall asleep as soon as I post this.
