Beautiful Fields Lie Just Beyond Me

Today has been like most the week... uneventful.  I signed up for a photography workshop in January of next year that I can't wait to attend!  But besides that it has been a pretty low key day.  However, I did prepare several things so that I can attend to them tomorrow without any delay.  I am hoping that I can get everything I need to done tomorrow so that the cleaning ladies will arrive to a clean house on Monday.  I guess we'll see.  I went back through my phone to find some old pictures that I could post.   I also ended up finding a really amazing jewelry box full of bracelets and necklaces galore (but mostly bracelets).  I plan on keeping most of them but I did set aside a few to put up on my Etsy shop once I get that up and running.

You Know What that Means, I'm Fly to Death

I've been slightly concerned about the hair that has been growing in Oscar's eyes.  Someone recently told me they groom their dog's face.  So I thought I might do that as well.  However, I didn't exactly get it as perfect as I would have wished.  It definitely looks a lot more blunt than is natural.  I need one of those sweet clippers hairdressers have that have those zig-zaggy edges.  I think once my parents come home they can help me keep Oscar still so I can cut his hair better.
I also cooked some Swedish Pancakes.   They weren't as good as the ones my dad made earlier, but they were decent enough.
Also I tend to forget that I have a hipstamatic app on my phone.  When I remember I tend to try and take as many pictures as possible.  (No matter if I have something interesting to shoot or not.)

I'm not actually a fan of this music video, but I just had to post it so all can see the ridiculousness.  First of all, why is Kanye wearing a turban?  Is that even Kanye?  Whoever it is they are completely scary.  Second, is it just me or is Kanye's second person just a little off on his words.  While I'm on the whole two people things, why are there two of each person anyway?  To say I don't under this music video is an understatement.  Although I do like the whole black and white effect.

Take All the Courage You Have Left

I've been trying to experiment with makeup products.  I tried to create a homemade concealer, but that didn't work.  However, I did create a wonderful hair treatment AND lip scrub.  The lip scrub mainly because I bought some awesome red lipstick/color and applying lipstick required me to scrub.  And the hair treatment because I saw a masque-thingy a really long time ago and it included beer so I bought some beer.  That beer has been sitting in my fridge for months (that's not an exaggeration).  So I finally wanted to create something with beer in it (except I forgot what website the original recipe was from so I just tried to figure out what kind of masque-thingy I was going to do).  I finally decided on this treatment.  It ended up with my hair being a mess but I think that it will be wonderful in the end (except I used EVOO instead of canola oil).
And from this "how to apply red lipstick" blog post, minus the whole red lip liner.  Which really improved my lips (that and Vaseline. which is my new favorite lip balm).  I think my honey was a little too old and that I heated it up a little too much to create the best lip scrub possible and still I was amazing at the effects.  (You can find the recipe for a homemade lip scrub here).  The recipe is simple and easy and only involves honey, olive oil, and sugar (it's wonderfully delicious as well).
I also perfected the whole "soft boiled egg" thing.  It's been a while since I have been able to get the yellow runny without the white being runny as well or the yellow being completely whole.  I swear I'm a British on accident.  I seriously need to go to England.
My darling little puppy is growing out his adult fur.  Right now it's just across the middle of his back, but I'm so ready to know how his whole fur will be.  His fur is a mix between white and almost reddish.  It's very interesting.
He also loves the water.  He likes to be the water that he drinks.  I can't wait to take him to a lake.
I know my puppies are adorable.  And they completely love me (and the rest of the family).

My Body Tells Me No, but I Won't Quit 'Cause I Want More

As I mentioned earlier this week (Sunday), I've been reading this amazing book about wedding photography by Jose Villa, who in case you're not in the photographer community (read: you don't stalk photographers on their websites/blogs/facebooks) or you haven't looked at who the photographer in pretty much all wedding magazines/featured on a ton of blogs, is an amazing photographer.  I've been loving his book.  However, he mostly shoots with film so trying to translate that to my digital camera means lots and lots of trial and error.  So when I took the puppies for a walk, I brought along my camera and started trying to figure out my camera.  Doing that meant I needed a human test subject.  Seeing is how I'm the only one here, I was that test subject.  Yeah, I almost decided not posting because well I feel like these photos are slightly embarrassing, but the color was pretty awesome.  When my parents get home I'm going to try and convince them to help me out some and let me photograph them.  But until then, I'm all I've got.  Hopefully you won't think I'm a huge nerd.
