Honey, It's All Around You

I photographed a rehearsal dinner tonight. I left the house at 6 o'clock and didn't get back until 10.  There was an hour commute (round trip--about 30 minutes both ways).  So I only was really photographing from like 6:30-9:30, but I'm still exhausted.  I even took about a 30 minute power nap after I got my makeup and hair done a little too early (my neck and shoulders were hurting with the start of a migraine).  Anyway, because I'm exhausted I'm going to keep it short and simple.
It finally rained here (more like majorly stormed) and that or something else entirely made the light stop working at the intersection of Riverdale Road and E Shelby Drive.  For those of you not familiar with this intersection it is a major one in Memphis (3 lanes on each side of the road plus the turn lane).  At 6 PM the traffic was pretty backed up because it turned into a 4-way stop, you know with the red light blinking.  Well, despite heavy traffic most people apparently knew how to work a 4-way stop.  However, on my way home I almost got hit by on coming traffic because someone didn't know who had the right away and decided it was their turn (and with them the other 2 lanes).  I was on the inside lane so I would have gotten plowed into on the driver's side.  Awesome.  When I come to a 4-way stop I usually assume all of the other drivers don't know how to work a 4-way stop and therefore was half expecting something idiotic like almost getting hit.  Nevertheless, I say all of that to say, people please learn how to work 4-way stops and while you're at it learn how to use a round-about.  It makes life so much easier on those of us who do know what to do (and a lot less accidents/honking/finger-throwing/yelling).
Plus it's pretty much the only picture besides pancakes for lunch that I took that was at the rehearsal dinner.  So I did make something out of nothing.  You're welcome.
