It's a Fine Line

Today I ran over Oscar.  Okay, so maybe that is a bit dramatic, but I did literally run my tire over one of Oscar's legs.  I know I'm a horrible, horrible mother.  He likes to sleep between my car and the garage wall (which is on the opposite side where I can't really see him) with half of his body under the car.   I thought he got up when I cranked up my car, but when I backed up I rolled over something and all of a sudden I heard yelping.  Of course, I knew what it was and immediately stopped the car and rushed to the poor puppy's side, all the while trying to call my mom to find out what to do.  Luckily, my dad was home so he took Oscar to the vet to get it x-rayed.  Even before we got Oscar in the car he was wagging his tail and begging to be loved on.  I had an important interview to go to, so I went to that before I could go to the vet and wait to hear the diagnosis.
It turns out he possibly could have a tiny hairline fracture on one of his bones in his wrist area (or what would be a wrist on a human).  But the doctors didn't want to splint it or anything because since he is growing so fast it wouldn't allow both legs to grow at the same speed.  The only thing we really can do for him is to keep him calm and not let him really get excited or rambunctious with Jack.  He is home now and although he has been limping some, tonight he started to put some pressure on it and it really hasn't stopped him from being a lovable little puppy.  He has definitely milked his injury to get all the attention out of it that he can.  Not that I blame him for that.  I would love on him anyway.
